I obtained my M.D. from Ankara University in Turkey in 1979, enrolling in a rotating internship at the King Hussein Medical Center in Amman between 1980 and 1981. In order to garner more experience, I worked as a general practitioner at the Jordanian Royal Medical Services for a year, and followed this by pursuing two residency programs in anatomic and clinical pathology and histopathology at King Hussein Medical Center.
To further broaden the scope of my specialties, I pursued a one-year attachment at the Histopathology Department of the Hammersmith Hospital in London and a one-year training program at the Pathology Department of the Children's Hospital of Buffalo in New York. The two programs were enriching on both professional and personal levels.
Over the years, I have held several positions in key medical institutions in Jordan, including Queen Alia Military Hospital, the Jordanian Royal Medical Services and King Hussein Medical Center. Today, I am the lab director of Biolab Al Bayder Branch and the Chief of the Surgical Pathology Department at Biolab - a position that allows me to harness my skills toward the greater goal of reinventing the standards of healthcare and lab analysis in Jordan.
